Introducing...
There is no question that learning design is one of the most highly sought-after skills in the education sector right now—especially in higher education.
As the call for more blended or fully online learning experiences only continues to grow, we rapidly need to upskill our educators and business leaders to meet the demand.
As learners are feeling the confidence to vocalise their thoughts on what makes a quality learning experience enjoyable and engaging, the education sector needs to respond with the ability to design and deliver courses that meet these expectations.
Oppida felt this significant change coming on the horizon.
That’s why our team has been tirelessly working to develop two microcredentials in Learning Design.
After all, who better to create this, than an experienced team of Learning Designers themselves!
So, Introducing;
Learning Design Practitioner (LDP)
AND
Learning Design Lead (LDL)
If you are an early career Learning Designer, a K-12 teacher, an L&D trainer, or a HR manager then the Learning Design Practitioner microcredential is designed especially for you!
You will learn, through building a portfolio of evidence, how LDs investigate, plan, curate, design, publish and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create dynamic learning experiences that actually teach a course’s intended learning outcomes online!
If, on the other hand, you have been working as a learning designer for a while and you now feel ready to achieve your Learning Designer Unicorn status, then the Learning Design Lead microcredential is for you!
Again, by building a portfolio of evidence you will learn how to project manage multiple course developments simultaneously and successfully. This advanced microcredential supports you to take a lead role - encouraging excellent collaboration from any multidisciplinary course development team.
LD Lead also deep dives into the value and nuances of the creative process for rich media production.
Each microcredential is approximately 40 hours of guided learning time with practical submission tasks based on real client case studies from the Oppida vault of projects and experience.
Successful completion of each will see you ready to begin your future Learning Designer journey as a Practitioner or Lead with an authentic, industry-relevant portfolio of evidence and a digital badge to support your future creative work and showcase your LD skills.
In addition, on enrolment to each microcredential, Oppida will connect you with our growing Learning Designers Rock community to network with all the other learning nerds in the space. So, sign up or enquire now to enhance your career as a Learning Designer!
